Northern Exposure was created to "talk" photography, party and allow individual photographers to apply for grants under the umbrella of a group. Most of the projects focused on documentation - the Eaton's stores, the Beach area, the Punk scene, rock and roll tours, etc...We gathered at F-Stop Gallery (operated by Leah Lavriviere & Billy Piton) on Queen East in the Beach district of Toronto. When the store closed Leah and Billly opened F-STOP Studio at Hannaford and Kingston Rd.. It continued to be a place to discuss ideas, plan and execute projects for a few years until we all went off on our own to pursue photography as professionals or amateurs. In 2007 Billy suggested a reunion, of sorts, to Leah (they had not seen each other for 25 years). Leah was all for it. So it began. We contacted Ron Pope, Yosh Inouye, Jack Senett (not in photo) & Duncan McAllister (not in photo). It was an opportunity to see what the photographers have been up to - "Then & Again". There were more photographers involved with Northern Exposure than appear in the above photo (by Gerard Gentile), Duncan McAllister, Keith Beatty (who attended the opening) and Steve Brittain.
